Welcome to Grade 2 - Term 2
|
What are we learning in Grade 2 this term:
- In Literacy students will be learning about how to write a Procedural Text and how to recognise and write the elements of a Narrative text. They are also working on breaking words down into onset and rimes and recognising digraphs and trigraphs when reading and spelling words.
- In Numeracy students are working on skip counting by 10s and 100s from different starting points, learning about money, time and addition and subtraction in real life settings.
- In Wellbeing students are working on recognising emotions, showing empathy and gratitude and self regulation of their behaviour.
Daily Home Reading
Home Readers will be coming home from week 2. We highly recommend maintaining a strong routine for your daily home reading. A regular time and place will help you and your child to remember and enjoy the reading. This is an extremely important part of your child’s education. We have found that the most effective learning occurs with an effective home – school partnership.
