Welcome to Grade 2 - Term 3
|
What are we learning in Grade 2 this term:
- In Literacy students will be learning about how to write an information report on Australian animals, as well as different types of poetry. There will also be a focus on correct letter formation and how to edit our work effectively.
- In Numeracy students are working on recognising the link between repeated addition, multiplication and division. They are also learning about units of measurement and how to collect, analyse and represent data effectively.
- In Wellbeing students are working on recognising emotions, showing empathy and gratitude and self regulation of their behaviour. There is also a focus on demonstrating kindness in all areas of our life.
Daily Home Reading
Home Readers will be coming home from week 2. We highly recommend maintaining a strong routine for your daily home reading. A regular time and place will help you and your child to remember and enjoy the reading. This is an extremely important part of your child’s education. We have found that the most effective learning occurs with an effective home – school partnership.
